Clear Braces are an easy to use, esthetic alternative to traditional wire braces. Computer imaging is the technology behind clear braces , today’s most talked about orthodontic treatment. Clear braces such as Clear Correct,consists of a series of clear virtually invisible, slip-on, slip-off appliances that have been prefabricated to fit the teeth like a glove. They can be used for a full mouth or a single jaw. There are no metal brackets and no wires to tighten with these clear braces. You simply pop in a new set of aligners every two weeks. Worn 22-24 hours a day, Invisalign aligners are easily slipped off for eating, brushing, flossing, and drinking anything sweet. They are comfortable and most wearers say they experience mild sensitivity on their first day, that being the extent of it. Average treatment 5-12 months. Post-alignment, patients are given retainer, in order to stabilize the teeth in their new position. They are transparent-unlike the traditional acrylic and wire devices that cover the roof of the mouth and are harder to adjust to. Vivera retainers are meant to be worn at night for at least a year.

Who is the candidate? Those at just about any age who have all their adult teeth in place, and whose jaws have completed growing. Since the most active growth of the part of the jaws that contain the teeth is completed after the second molars are erupted at age 13 or 15, this is a good age for a motivated teenager to wear Invisalign/Clear Correct. They are also well suited to adults who have had braces and whose teeth have mild crowding and/or mild under -and overbites or spaces between their front teeth known as diastemas.
